Who we are

tailormydog.com is operated by Valtaron, based in the Netherlands. Valtaron is the data controller for all personal data collected through this website.

What data we collect and why

We only collect data that is necessary to run this site and understand how visitors use it.

• Usage data — pages visited, time on page, browser type. Collected via Google Analytics to help us improve the site.
• Affiliate click data — when you click a product link, the affiliate network records that click to track referrals. We do not receive your name or purchase details, only that a click occurred.

We do not collect your name, email address, or any other information that identifies you directly — unless you choose to contact us.

Legal basis

Under the GDPR (Article 6), we process data based on:

• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for analytics and affiliate tracking cookies. You give this consent when you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for technical cookies that are strictly necessary to make the site work. These do not require consent.

Cookies we use

Data transfers outside the EU

Google Analytics transfers data to Google LLC, which is based in the United States. Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission as the legal basis for this transfer. By accepting analytics cookies, you agree to this transfer.

Amazon and Chewy affiliate tracking may also process data in the United States. Their privacy policies apply to data they collect through their tracking links.

How long we keep your data

• Google Analytics data: 14 months (set in our GA configuration).
• Affiliate click data: retained per the affiliate program's own policy (typically 90 days).
• Emails you send us: kept for as long as needed to respond, then deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access — ask us what data we hold about you.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data.
• Portability — ask for a copy of your data in a readable format.
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Withdraw consent — you can withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or using browser cookie settings.

If you feel we have not handled your request correctly, you have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you additional rights:

• Right to know — you can ask us what personal information we collect, use, and share.
• Right to delete — you can ask us to delete your personal information.
• Right to opt out of sale — we do not sell your personal information. We never have and never will.
• No discrimination — we will not treat you differently for exercising your CCPA rights.

Third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. The only third parties who may receive data are Google Analytics and affiliate networks, as described above.
